Scottish Screen - Who are they helping?

A contact page has been set up for those interested in expressing their opinions, good or bad, about Scottish Screen. The official film body of Scotland.

Over the years many people have been unhappy about the way the Scottish Screen works. If you are a film professional, or have had dealings with Scottish Screen you may want to sign up and have your say. We hope later to publish our findings in the press, which may help Scottish Screen see what the industry in Scotland really think.

Well goody, goody...looking forward to comments...we are blazing through the script and it makes Darkness Aftermath look like...well...hey...it was our first try...this is doing a lot better...and we have GUNS!

BTW, congrats on all of the success with ODR! It is so cool to see the little guy make something better than Hollywood. Honestly, I have not been as entertained with mainstream films (with Ice Age 3 being the exception, maybe) as I was with ODR. My 11 year old is begging to watch it...

Mmm, 11 is a bit young isn't it. We could always make a child friendly version, which would be about 10 minutes long. One of these days I'll make a nicer film.

Yeah...he'll have to wait a little while. You really think a kid friendly version would be that long? 10 minutes? Maybe with credits...

And for the record, I wasn't comparing ODR to IA3. But Simon Pegg stole the show! Makes me wonder how much he add-libbed...

Hi Allen, I think most of the audio for things like Ice Age is done well in advance of the animation. There possibly is scope for some ad-libbing from the talent.

Not as much as Tom Baker while on dr who though.

Didn't know that about Baker. I was wondering about Pegg because I saw a documentary where Robin Williams was looping audio and he did each line about ten different ways.

On a different note, I am contemplating leaving Beneath Shadows as director. With my work status and some family issues, it's just too much...can't dedicate myself to it 100% anymore.

I'm sorry to hear that Allen, you really enjoy film making. Perhaps you could act in advisory position for a while.

You know you'll miss it if you leave it totally.
