See Mike Speak, Speak Mike Speak

As a shock to most people, including me, I've been asked to speak at a digital skills conference in Sheffield (England) this Friday. The conference, run by Propeller TV (the first place to pick up "The Planet," for public release), is at the Showroom Cinema, Paternoster Row, Sheffield on Friday, 19th October from 12pm – 8pm.

Director bloke, Mark Stirton will be unable to attend as he's killing an old man on Saturday, aided by modelly bloke Kerwin Robertson, or he would have came down too. So it's just me I'm afraid; if anyone wants to come down and stare at me, please feel free to do so.

I'll be the gibbering wreck at the table.

Have you got your passport ready?

I'd be there, but there is that fear of flying over oceans that makes it impossible for me to arrrive at aa timely fashion. You'll do fine, I'm sure. You seemed relaxed on the documentary.

That's cos he was asleep.

The documentary thing is true, it was shot at about 12.30 in the morning on a work day. I wasn't relaxed I was unconscious.

Major props, Mike, congratulations.

Thanks Rev, not sure what props means though.

Mark an I were supposed to be going down but he's killing the old bloke in the back of the van this weekend, only time he was free. So I'll be there by myself talking bollocks. No change then!

Blog, Mike, Blog

How's Sheffield? Is the cutlery worth the visit? What are the trams like? Have you filmed a film noir on them?

Oh he did the usual. He got drunk the minute he was off the train, didn't turn up, got into at least 2 fights and fell asleep in a park underneath a local transvestite. He'll make up some fantasy about attending a 'special effects' seminar. As if!

So was it fun ?

ugktlHi Andrew, back from seminar in one piece. It was well attended and I got to meet a lot of students from film and sfx courses, I turned into the king of the geeks with stories about particle effect speeds and Mark trying to destroy poser 4 due to its habit of introducing random movements in animation tracks.

I'll post a full story tomorrow.
